Art

I have been drawing ever since middle school. Back then I drew only in pencil, but as time has gone on I've used pens, colored pencils, and even charcoal. What I seem to be best at are structures or buildings... I've even drawn what the outside of my dream summer home would look like (yes, my summer home... I haven't drawn my dream home yet). I've also dabbled a bit in photography. And of course I'm into web design.

A feisty little old lady was among a group looking at an art exhibition in a newly-opened gallery. One of the contemporary paintings caught her eye, and she inquired of the tour guide, "What on earth is that?"

He smiled condescendingly. "That, dear lady, is supposed to be a mother and child."

"Well, then," snapped the little old lady, "why isn't it?"

I'm drawn more to realistic art. The more a piece actually looks like the real thing, the more I'll like it. But I don't completely dislike abstract art.... I just usually don't get it. To me, if someone off the street could do it, then it's not art to me.
