Computers Computers just come naturally to me... probably b/c I've been using and playing around with them ever since my family got our first computer in 1994 (the specs for the techies: 90 Mhz processor, 8MB RAM, 14.4K modem, 800MB Hard drive). I did a lot of learning on my own... and even made a few programs in QBASIC: one to help me figure out how much money to put in the bank from my paper route and another was a screen saver. A few times my tinkering resulted in the computer not working... though every time I got it back up and running (a few times with the help of customer support). And then my family got AOL in middle school. I've made a few websites since then... this one was my first. I made that back in high school (nothing ever goes away on the internet, does it?). My web design skills have come a long way since then (or so I'd like to think). =) I'm making web design my career. From all of my work with computers I'm known in my family as the "computer guy." Everyone always comes to me when there is something wrong with their computer.
We are told that if automotive technology progressed at the same pace as computer technology, we would have economy cars weighing 30 pounds getting 1,000 miles to a gallon of gas, with a cost of less than $50.00. | |||||||||||||||||||
